The Carl Zeiss Batis 1.8/85 E-Mount Lens is designed for full-frame Sony E-mount cameras and offers a fast, bright f/1.8 maximum aperture for working in difficult lighting conditions. Its Sonnar optical design employs floating elements to maintain consistent imaging performance throughout the focusing range, and a Zeiss T* anti-reflective coating suppresses lens flare and ghosting for improved contrast and clarity. An OLED display on the barrel provides a means to check focus distance and depth of field in real time. Additionally, the lens is complemented by an internal linear autofocus motor and an Optical SteadyShot image stabilization system to minimize the appearance of camera shake. The weather-sealed construction also provides a degree of protection from dust and moisture for use in trying environmental conditions. Ideal for portraiture, this lens' fast maximum aperture also makes it suitable for isolating subjects and controlling depth of field.
